Lead working is another traditional skill and one that complements our roof slating and tiling works. Lead has been used widely throughout time to cover roofs of all types and sizes, most notably churches, historic houses and castles. Lead is still widely used to weather junctions of slated and tiled roofs, such as at chimneys, valleys, abutment walls etc. Lead is also still widely used in more specialist areas such as flat gutters, flat roofs, feature items such as dovecotes and bell towers as well as refurbishment works to historic buildings.
Our lead workers are highly skilled and well experienced craftsmen capable of installing lead in all situations from the straightforward flashings to the most detailed and ornate features on historic and listed buildings.
Our works are carried out to the recommended details as published by the Lead Sheet Association and are finished to a high standard that will provide the client with many years of function whilst remaining pleasing to the eye.
The majority of lead used within the construction industry is milled lead, manufactured to the relevant British Standards to provide a consistent high quality finish. Where specified we are equally able to provide and fix machine cast and traditionally sand cast lead.
